I woke up at 7.45am to prepare medicine for my father and then went back to sleep again before I woke up at 9.15am to get ready to bring my father to CGH for his physio therapy...

After everything was done and I brought him home together with my mother and maid, I rushed down to Gallery Hotel to meet Jen and the rest for a site visit... The site visit was meant for the APPCRC on 4 & 5 Dec 2010...



All of us had a free treat buffet from the hotel... Of course it came with a main dish where I ordered a butter fish fillet... The above was also part of the buffet, it's Movenpick chocolate ice-creams and chocolate cake... yummy!!!

After the site visit, Dr TTL brought us to a restaurant at Clark Quay called Shiras which we will be making reservations for the overseas delegates... By the time we all reached back to office, it was about 4.45pm and we couldn't do much work, especially for me as I was already on half day morning off...

NUHS

The whole office staff went to Prof's new office at NUHS (beside NUH and within NUS campus) at 5pm... Before that, we were having our Admin Meeting and early lunch at 12pm as usual...

It was young master & CIC who sent us there... During the journey, Jen asked me if I can assist CY2 on 18 Oct at the 3 Polyclinics where he will be doing the coordinating job for the NTS exams... I told her that I will be taking morning leave to bring my father for his speech therapy appointment at CGH... Then I told her I can check to see if the therapist can change the appt, then she was relieved and said that she would prefer me to help CY2 instead of RT (as suggested by young master) bcos I am more experienced in coordinating and she will feel more fan xin if I were there...

After the open ceremony and all the photo takings, we were making a move when Prof sent AG to MDIS for her evening class while young master sent Jen, RT and CY2 to the nearest train station... CIC sent me to Ford Road bcos he was on the way... And during the whole close to 1hr journey, we talked alot on housing and reno which he gave me some suggestions and even gave me the contact of his reno contractors... But he did told me that his contractors will be slightly more expensive than others... (In my heart, I was thinking that since he said it was expensive, so I will might as well give it a miss)... haha...

Special arrangements

Dar & I went down to JHC after calling Jessica for an appointment to discuss on our "last minute" wedding date (which will be either 30 Nov 2010 or 01 Dec 2010 as Master Seah would want us to let him know the date that we had chosen so that he can double check if the date is good) and see if she can arrange for us... She was nice and able to make special arrangement for us :D

So the gowns choosing & fitting was fixed today (26 Sep 2010)... The studio & outdoor shootings will be on 16 Oct 2010...

I had sms-ed Jessica to inform her our confirmed wedding date on 01 Dec 2010 and she had made the necessary arrangements for us liao...

Since I had free time at home after work, so I did some research on internet and found some venues for the lunch buffet and also venues for outdoor shootings...

One of the venues for outdoor shootings will be at Temasek Polytechnic (TP) since dar & I known each other there in 1998 and also graduated from there in 2001... I had also emailed to TP Alumni to ask for permission to do the shootings at their premises...

Many ideas

Sometimes when there's too many ideas, it might not be a good thing either... When my 叔叔asked his reno friends to come take a look at our new house so that they can quote us based on our requirement for the reno, there were many ideas that were given to them and thus people might be confused...

What if you got no say when it comes to reno for your own house? What will you feel?

Who's the one be living in there for the rest of the days? Who's the one to pay for it? We have our own ideas for the designs... We want the storeroom to be restored... We dunwan to hack so many walls...

After the contractors left, dar & I also went off for our late lunch at Mac... We were so tired and took a nap till 5.15pm...

The dinner was fried rice at dar's house... We decided to make a trip to Parkway Giant to see see the furniture... Dar was hungry and wanted to eat Katong laksa, so we walked to Katong through the Roxy Square...

The bad experience at 328 Katong Laksa... The shop assistant calculated the amount wrongly and even gave wrong change... Dar said the laksa was not nice, I also feel that the drinks was too diluted... Overall rating: very poor, don't go there...

Mooncakes

Dar bought mooncakes for my parents and grandma... After my work, he came to my house followed by my grandma's house to present them the mooncakes like usual years... This year, I didn't bought his parents the usual Swensen ice-cream mooncakes, I bought them the traditional mooncakes...

After that, we went to have our late dinner at the 24-hours coffeeshop near my house... Bcos of the renovation, we had a slight disagreement and didn't talk throughout the dinner... It was a terrible feeling...

After a walk to the bus stop, we talked again and agreed not to be angry with each other for matters relating to our wedding and house reno...

I dozed off while watching the Andy Lau movie [墨攻] at dar's house, didn't managed to watch the whole show afterall... haha... Just too tired after walking a hundred miles at day time just to find photocoping service...

Working for PEL Day 1

I was working and the venue was at MDIS uni-campus (Queenstown)... Luckily there's Garry to help out, else I will be more shiong... Having to go external venue was one thing, but there's also some stuff to bring over there, i.e. 2 boxes of lecture notes, 6 packs of bottled mineral water, attendance lists, etc...

Before the tea-break, there were shortage of lecture notes bcos there were trainees who came but didn't register... Therefore I walked hundred miles just to find a photocopy shop... I walked the whole uni-campus but don't have, so I walked to opposite blocks to try luck... Under the hot sun and the 20min long distance made me very shacked and giddy...

I bought late lunch from the Queenstown hawker near the NTUC there and walked back slowly... After the tea-break at 4.15pm, Garry and I went to the canteen to rest and I had my super late lunch...

4 dates

We had approached Master Seah to pick a good date for our wedding day since he was the one who helped us pick the date for our ROM on 15/1/2010...

After 4 days, he finally gave us 4 dates to choose:

- 14 Nov 2010 (Sunday),
- 16 Nov 2010 (Tuesday),
- 30 Nov 2010 (Tuesday), or
- 01 Dec 2010 (Wednesday)

Dar and I felt that 14 & 16 Nov is abit too rush, so we decided on either 30 Nov or 01 Dec...

Furniture

Our recent weekends were spending on looking around for furniture or electrical appliances for our new house... Although it might still take few weeks for the complete renovations to be done, we already started looking around for ideas and pricings...

Dar saw a round sofa at Harvey Norman (Millenia Walk branch) and liked it very much... However it costs $2699!!! It's nice & comfortable for "just-nice" 2 person to nua there to watch TV, but it's real too expensive for a sofa price...

As long as they did the adjustment and waived the late charges just bcos their policy is to make payment for the 2 different cards, I don't care more... I try not to use CitiBank credit cards if there's a choice (i.e. getting discounts, etc)...

Bishan Junction 8

Arranged to meet dar at Bishan Junction 8 to have dinner and also to buy bday present for AG... The bday present was shared by the 5 of us (RT, CY2, L, Jen and myself)... Within the budget, I bought 3 books which AG wanted... It's a series from the same authors...

The dinner we had was Pepper Lunch... haha...



Before we headed home, I bought mooncakes for dar's parents... The mooncakes was from InterContinental Hotel which was at the roadshow inside the Junction 8...

Sleepy at work

Feeling sleepy at work, perhaps it's straight after lunch that's why... I emailed to AG and RT and 3 of us started the chat conversations... CY2 was on leave...

AG said since we got nothing much to do, so she sent us the link to SPI since we were talking about the diong diong... (since it was after the 7th lunar month liao)

We chatted for closed to 3hrs since after lunch... That's how we spent our time doing some work while still entertaining ourselves and trying hard not to fall asleep... haha...

There was an article in MyPaper on whether you will be a good son/ daughter or a good lover... During lunch, we were all discussing about this and Jen asked all of us on our views since we had finished our food and resting...

She asked AG if her bf wants to stay with his parents after marriage, how will she react? She said she will not want to stay with in-laws but she feels that her bf will want to stay with his own parents bcos he is the elder son...

Knowing RT's character, Jen didn't really go into details to ask him bcos she knew that he will definitely sided parents than gf... Instead she asked CY2 how's his view... CY2 said that he will take care of his parents at the same time take care of gf... So outcome of his view was, he will engage a maid totake care of his parents then stay with wife...

Since Jen herself is staying with parents-in-laws now, so we knew her answers...

After this topic, we moved on to housing...

CY2 suddenly asked me & Jen about engagement ring and wedding rings... He asked if wedding ring need to wear everyday and what is the difference between engagement ring and wedding and if it is necessary to give engagement ring?

Jen then explained that the reason she didn't wear wedding ring liao was bcos after her delivery, her wedding ring couldn't fit into her ring finger so she didn't wear it since then... However, sometimes she will still wear the solitaire ring received from her husband for their anniversay...

For me, I told him that engagement ring and proposal ring is different... Wedding ring of course must wear everyday, I mean for me lah... haha...

Then he asked if wedding rings must come with diamond? I find this qnt funny... Of course I didn't say out, but I commented that it is up to individual mah... If like diamond then buy with diamond, if dun like then dun choose one with diamond loh... Then he said true bcos his sister's wedding ring is also very plain without diamond... -_-'''''

After lunch, we went back to our own seats to work... CY2 answered a call from one doctor requesting for SFP password, so he reset for her... Somehow, when he returned call to the doctor to inform her of the new password, he told her that he had logged in with her new password to test the login and it was successful... After he put down the phone, I went to tell him that he should not login for the doctor else we can't track from the log whether the doctor had successfully login, this will also cause the log not to be accurated... Sigh... Duno what to say about him... -_-'''''

House cleaning

We woke up at about 9.30am and washed up before we proceed to clean our new house... Dar's parents also helping in the cleaning up... We started the process at 11am and completed at 1pm... We didn't really clean the whole house since we will be renovating it...

Dar's uncle will be helping us in the interior design... I had also approached my shushu to find renovation contractors...

Going to IKEA was also another place which we all went... Finding new ideas to deco the house is something which is very blissful although a sum of money will be spend to buy new furniture... Setting up a family is never easy, especially in Singapore where the living standard are so high...

Open House

Finally we had "opened house" for our new house... haha... We woke up early morning at 7.50am to get ready to go to our new house and did some ceremony... Many people are also doing the same formality so we also follow... Putting rice, salt and sugar at all corners of the house and rolling pineapple is the usual procedures...

After everything was done, we locked the house and went back to dar's house... We took a 3hrs nap before going for lunch and updating the new residential address for our NRIC at nearby Neighbourhood Police Post... After that then we took bus to Nova to see see look look some furniture for ideas on how to deco our new house...

With many matters on hands, we decided to go Waterloo temple to pray... Hoping that everything will go on smoothly and everyone in our families will be in good health...

Meeting up with SHPS friends

Arranged to meet up with some friends cum ex-colleagues from SHPS since end Aug... FInally we managed to meet up, however Diane was not able to make it.. In order to disappoint everybody, we didn't postpond the gathering despite her absence...

5 of us (Allan, Alan, EK, Amelia and myself) met at Changi Airport T2 train station at 1pm... I am craving for Popeye and they gave in to me... haha... However, the branch at T3 was overly packed thus we changed venue to T1 thinking that it should be less crowded... But to our surprise, the branch at T1 was already closed down and now the place was under renovation... Since we were at T1 liao, so we just ended up having something which was not so crowded: Astons...

We chatted while eating... Talking about our jobs and also the period of time after we all left SHPS... After that, we moved on to Katong area for ice-creams and continued chatting... It always good to be able to meet up with friends and get to know what each other is doing...

Changed of wedding plan

Went with dar to visit his grandma after so long didn't visit her... Dar told her that we just gotten our new house's keys and she kept asking him when are we having our customary.. She didn't ask once, she asked a few times within the same night...

Seeing her so looking forward for us to get married, dar & I decided to change our wedding plan... Initially our plan was to sublet our house for 1 year then use that sum of money for renovation, furniture and honeymoon...

Other than dar's grandma's condition, we also taken into consideration of dar's mother who strongly disagree us for subletting the house bcos she always feel that we should stay in the house since we are the owners and don't let outside people stay...

Plus now after hearing dar's grandma's wish, we decided to bring forward our customary and not to sublet our house liao... Other than not to sublet the house, we also started looking for renovation contractors and also to get Fengshui Master Seah to pick a good date for us for the customary...

Our plans for all these to happen is within the next 3 to 6 mths' time... Abit rush hor, but we will try to do the necessary preparations from now while waiting for the date...

Had went through with CY2 on the programmes overview when he 1st joined in May 2010... He even wrote down all the key points, but he didn't make effort to really take note...

He received a call from one of the MMed A trainee asking if PEL is compulsory... He asked the trainee back if it is compulsory then later on told that trainee that he don't think so it is compulsory, but he will check with me... So he hold the call and came over to my desk to check with me... Upon hearing that the call was one of the MMed A trainee, I told him that I will answer it... He heard me telling the trainee that PEL is compulsory, after I hang up the phone, he came over to my desk again to find out more...

I jokingly tell him off by saying that I tot I already go through with him the overview of all these programmes liao, somemore I told him to check the points whiuch he had written down that time... He then realised that he wrote all these down and jokingly said that he forgot... Then I also jokingly scold him...

Really buay tahan him! If duno then ask, dun act smart and gave wrong info...

Bad experience with CitiBank

Was very angry with CitiBank...

I had 2 CitiBank Credit Cards (Citi Dividend Visa & Citi Clear Platinum Visa). There are payments that I need to make by 3 Sep 2010 for the Statement dated 9 Aug 2010. The amount was $27.52 for Citi Dividend Visa and $131.36 for Citi Clear Platinum Visa. However, I made the payment for both $27.52 and $131.36 which total to $158.88 on 29 Aug 2010 through the Citi Clear Platinum Visa and I was been charged late payment for that $27.52!!!

I called up the Credit Control/ Finance dept after receiving a sms stating that I had overdue credit card bill. The CitiBank staff mentioned that she had taken note of my call and will not charge me for late payment knowing which I had made wrong payment using the wrong credit cards. I requested her to transfer the surplus of $27.52 from my Citi Clear Platinum Visa to Citi Dividend Visa to offset the amount so that I do not have to make additional payment for the Statement for August. She told me to call the Customer Service and I did.

After explaining to the Customer Service staff, she said that she will transfer the amount of $27.52 from my Citi Clear Platinum Visa to Citi Dividend Visa. In order to make sure that I have no more outstanding for August Statement, I asked her to check for me. She reverted that I need to pay the late charges of $108+. I got a shocked and asked her what the amount was for. She couldn’t explain clearly so I asked her for waiver on the late charges. She said ok and she will send in request for me and will get back to me on the same day.

I also request to cancel the Citi Clear Platinum Visa as I do not want to have same problem happening again. I have no problem with other banks as I can use any of the credit cards from same banks to make payments, not knowing that Citibank has to make payment as separate credit cards accounts.

The customer service staff was getting on my nerve... What do I have to keep calling customer services for different matters... 1st was MDA on the TV license, followed by Starhub on the internet connections, then now is CitiBank... Sianzz!

lunch meeting @ Brasserie Wolf

L was on MC and Jen was very unhappy bcos we were arranged to meet up with the sponsors for the FPSC and she is the executive in-charge of FPSC... Jen was trying to find the document needed for the meeting later but couldn't managed to find, thus she get RT to help her find so that she can prepare for other stuff for the meeting...

The meeting was at Brasserie Wolf restaurant located at Clark Quay... The 2 main dish course costs S$25++ and the 3 main dish course costs S$29++... Initially we thought Prof was treating us so we wanted to help save his money and ordered 2 main dish course, then later Jen asked us to order 3 main dish course, so we knew it must be College paying or the sponsors paying... So we changed our menu to 3 dish instead of 2 dish... The breads were super nice, the butter was also very delicious... 4 of us (CY2, AG, RT and myself) who sat on the same table ate exactly 2 baskets of breads before the long-waited soup arrived on our table followed by the main dish (mine was salmon) and the rich chocolate as shown below...



Yummy!!! Rich chocolate with ice-cream... A very good combinations... haha...

Starhub connection problem

Having broadband connection problem after using for 1hr... I called up the customer service and waited for 20min before my call was been answered by a chinese lady... She asked me to unplug the spilter connecting to TV and the modem, asked me to reset windows IP, restart modem & laptop, but still couldn't work... Last resort, she asked me to reset everything again then finally can work... Spent 30min just trying to troubleshoot this issue which I think nothing got to do with my spilter, modem or laptop which she kept mentioning...

Since the issue was resolved, so I also didn't keep it to heart and thought it's only a short term technical issue over at Starhub side...

The next day, I had the same connection issue again... I called in and waited for fair 25min and finally an indian guy answered the call... He kept repeating that it's the modem problem and even asked me to connect the modem without the spilter... So I asked him how do my family watch TV without connecting the spilter, he said have to bear with it and further commented that if don't try how to know if it's the spilter problem... I was so fed up and shot him back and said I don't think it's the spilter problem, else how come I can use internet for awhile then disconnected... Somemore there's no problem during daytime when my small was using the connection...

He then repeatingly commented that it was not their side problem and insisted that the problem lied with the router (which I did a direct connection through modem and not router liao)... I was abit pissed off, one moment said it's the spilter, one moment said it's the router... I told him to close the case and then slammed the phone to end the conversation bcos no point talking to him so much which he kept insisting not their backend technical problem...

After putting down the phone, my small sis commented that why I grumbled so much, even if I changed to Singtel, there will bound to have problem occurs, I was so angry with her... She didn't help in troubleshooting, and yet commented so much, still say I grumble so much... Hello, if I don't solve the issue, who else will solve the problem? Nobody and she will just throw temper at everybody...

Sometimes I am just abit pissed off as if everything is my problem... Internet connection cannot work is my problem, computer cannot work also my problem, even my father kept coughing also my problem... How many hands & brain do I have... I still got a grandma to worry, a colleague to piss me off during work, and a new house to settle the foundation admin work... Sometimes I just don't have much energy to think of so many things on my mind...

Work & work

During lunch, manager jokingly commented in front of all of us saying that CY2 never update her on certain stuff and even talked back to her, and she jokingly beated CY2's shoulder... So I also jokingly commented that RT was also like that last time when he just joined, so now he was well trained by us and now it's time to start training CY2... Upeon hearing this, CY2 just smiled smiled and accepted what we all said... I guess he should have know that we are working in a very small organisation and thus, there should be no hidden agenda and all info should be shared so that we will get to know and do work easier...

Ex-colleague, Y sent me and Jen an email on some jokes, so I replied her and asked her how's her new workplace and we even chat via the emails for 1hr plus... Never thought that after she resigned, we can even chat nicely as if nothing had happened...

CY2 was at Jen's desk discussing about the logistics of the APPCRC so I heard Jen telling off him for certain matters... Anyway, since he is the coordinator for this conference, he should do what he is supposed to do and not to act smart while trying to prove that he can work...

On leave - 6 Sep 2010

I took 1 day leave to bring my father to CGH for speech therapy in the morning and also to accompany my shushu to CPF Tampines to enquire more on his Retirement Account...

My mother supposed to go facial appointment with my 2nd sis at Fast East, however the beauty shop cocked up and didn't have their appointments, thus my mother was disappointed... Therefore I suggested to call the Simei beauty shop which I paid the facial treatments for my mother, so I called to try luck if they have available slot last minute, coincidently they had available slot for my mother and she went for the appointment at 4.30pm...

I wanted to take a nap but decided to settle some admin work... I asked Raymond (our housing agent) on regards the cancellation of the TV license of our new house by MDA as stated on their letter, he was not sure either and suggested that I called up MDA... So I called up MDA to enquire on this matter... I was answered by a rude customer service officer who couldn't explain much and didn't pay much attend on my concern... What she did was to keep repeating her story, I was so fed up and slammed her phone... I was so damn pissed off by the kind of service that I got from such a govt agency... Why can't they just transfer the name to the next owners of the property like the Property Tax under IRAS...

The outcome was, we have to re-apply for new TV license and we had to get Mdm Chong to call MDA to request for refund then we can get back the pro-rated amount which we paid to Mdm Chong during the HDB completion date...

I called Mdm Chong and she was working thus not able to call MDA within short time... No choice but to give her some time to call, else don't think she will fork out from her own pocket to refund us the amount...

I also got Mdm Chong's new mailing address to post her the LTA letter which was addressed to the late Dr Lim...

So many admin stuff to settle for the new house... Giro forms for S&CC, SP services, etc...

We celebrated Hui's bday at Iluma... Dinner and cake-cutting at Tora Shabu @ Ebisboshi Shotengai, followed by chit-chat sessions at Coffeebean till 11pm...

Each of us had our own problems... Although people always says 钱是万能的，但没钱却是万万不能... But sometimes it's not really money that was the main problem... Money can't buy everything, there are 2 things that money can NEVER buy, that is time and loved ones...

Anyway, be happy is the most important thing in life... How to have happiness? Different people have different expectations and desires... Up to you to determind your own happiness...

Manager (Jen) was on leave and due to over crowded in trains, I was late for work and reached at 9.20am... L was more late than me, she reached at 9.30am...

CY2 sent an email to all of us saying that he had done an excel sheet to track the APPCRC submissions and also the registrations + payments... He stated in his email to ask us to take a look and give him any comment... -_-'''

After work, we went to watch movie [Haunted Changi] at Plaza Sing... The movie started at 8.30pm but dar was held up with work and reached just in time to buy some snacks as dinner... After the movie, dar & I took Circle line home while RT & CY2 took the East West/ South East...

It was a scary movie which made my heart beating fast... Perhaps bcos it's a story happened in local, thus the fear was there and the building mentioned is still located in local...

I reached home at about 11.30pm... Just after I bathed and about to go sleep, my father coughed and vomited on the bed... So we helped to change him, by the time we slept was about 12.30am...

As usual, I accompanied my grandma for breakfast and bought breakfast for my mother & 2 sis... After that, then I rushed to the 531 clinic to take queue number for my father to see doctor...

Wah, I cannot stand the clinic assistant... We were just 1 queue number late when I rushed into the clinic, she said in a very rude & frustrated tone "wait huh, we called your number but you are here so we let the next patient go in"... Then I was also frustrated and said "anyway I pushed my father (with wheelchair) in 1st..."

Waited for awhile then it's our turn, we pushed my father in, it was an old locum doctor... He didn't ask much details about my father's condition, the only thing he asked twice was "is he having fever" and I answered twice "this morning his fever was 37.6, not sure about now!"... He only asked if my father was having sore throat and nothing much more... I can see that the doctor was not that responsible... Sian... Should have see the doctor downstair instead...

I had a nap in the afternoon for 5hrs after running errands... After that I met dar at Stadium station to have dinner at Leisure Park Kallang and then McCafe at T3...

CY2 didn't informed me to route the email for APPCRC to his email account... Since this was the instruction and decision made during the comm meeting, he should have told me... I was abit pissed off with him...

He approached me to refresh his memory to reset/ re-activate trainees' IVLE accounts, so I guided him again and answered all his queries... There's one doctor called and he picked up the call... He gave wrong info to the doctor when the doctor asked him how come his SFP account was not able to login, then CY2 checked and noticed the doctor's account was logged in 1yr ago, so he happily told the doctor that his account was expired... Upon hearing this, RT was puzzled and after CY2 hang up the phone, I told him that SFP account will not be expired and asked him not to give wrong info to doctors... Even RT also commented that the SFP accounts will not be expired... See! Even RT also know, CY2 never find out the details from me as the adminiostrator and anyhow tell the doctors...

During the Admin meeting, CY2 updated Prof on the abstract submissions then Prof asked him to do an excel sheet to track the submissions... Then Prof asked if there's a better way to track and not to be mixed up with the submissions, he looked around us for answers, so I answered by suggesting that maybe we can assign unique tracking number or ID for each submission then when CY2 replied the senders on the submissions' status, he can also include the unique ID for their references... Prof was agreeable with the suggestion and complimented me for this suggestion...

RT was abit frustrated with CY2 when CY2 approached him for some details... On our way to train after knocking off, I asked RT why he sounded frustrated with CY2... Then RT said that CY2 didn't say properly what he wanted from RT so he was impatient with him fo rnot able to make himself clear...

I was on half day morning off to bring my father to therapy at CGH... The appt was early at 9.30am followed by the acupunture at 10.30am... So we managed to reach home at about 12pm... In order not to rush myself too much, so I slowly bought lunch from Bedok int and took traiun to work... I reached office at about 1.15pm and started working while having lunch at the same time...

Manager had a urgent document to make copies but the photocopier was down, so she approached me to help her scan then print the copies from softcopy... I did it within 30min and she was very grateful... The document was for the directors' meeting on that day, so she was very kan chiong...

I dun like the way CY2 talked... He always like to use chimology English instead of simple English when talking to doctors... To me, understand what other party is saying is better than using chim language where other party dun get the message... Simple is beauty... Sometimes really cannot stand him!

Manager was chatting with me at her cubicle... We were talking about something else when she suddenly asked me if I will plan for a baby straight after the planned customary in Jan 2012, or I will prefer to have a honeymoon period or 2 person's world first? I told her this kind of thing is hard to say, so let natural take its course bah... Anyway, 2012 is still so far away from now...
